S3 Object Storage

Deploy cost-effective, hyperscale cloud storage.

QuantaStor object storage configurations enable organizations to deploy cost-effective hyperscale storage for a variety of archive and application workloads using the S3 protocol.

Object Storage Key Features

Forever Filesystems

OSNEXUS uses Ceph technology thereby eliminating the high risk that comes with the shorter longevity and higher life-span risk that comes with proprietary filesystems. By backing and improving Ceph with a larger community of companies and contributors, the technology will be supported and extended for decades to come, it's what we refer to as a "forever filesystem."

Rapid Object Storage Deployment

QuantaStor's unique grid technology takes the powerful yet complex Ceph storage technology and makes it simple to deploy and maintain. With just three simple screens in the QuantaStor web interface, administrators can set up an entire optimized grid of object storage in just minutes.

Object and Block Storage Coexist

QuantaStor supports the use of Ceph for both object (S3) and block (RBD & iSCSI) storage at the same time. Set up of both block and object storage is greatly simplified by QuantaStor through the web management interface. Simply select the appliances and storage layout (erasure-coding, replicas) and the QuantaStor grid does the rest by automatically deploying S3 Object Gateways on all selected appliances. From there, a cluster can be extended, expanded and monitored with ease through the web interface, CLI, and REST APIs with call-home alerting via SNMP, email, PagerDuty, and Slack.

One Grid, Multiple Clusters

With the ability to scale a QuantaStor storage grid to 100 appliances, IT managers can create multiple individual independent object storage clusters within the grid to enable I/O independence and asynchronous replication between sites and clusters. QuantaStor's powerful configuration, monitoring and management features make it easy to set up large and complex configurations with ease through the grid-wide web management interface.

OpenStack Integration

QuantaStor object storage integrates with OpenStack by adding it as an OpenStack Swift end-point to the Keystone OpenStack Identity Service so that OpenStack services can use the object storage to store image data and metadata.
