Release Notes

Ceph Scale-out Block, Object and File

  • Creating or removing a Ceph object storage class now commits the RGW period so it takes effect immediately. [ QSTOR-11938 ]

  • A failed bucket enumeration is no longer treated as an empty list, which could silently drop bucket configuration. [ QSTOR-12130 ]

  • Ceph object pool group creation now commits the RGW period, fixing persistent RGW realm/master-zone errors. [ QSTOR-12132 ]

Network Shares

  • Fixed Active Directory join failures on domains that use older Kerberos encryption methods. [ QSTOR-11646 ]

  • Changed: Active Directory joins now set 'restrict anonymous = 2' in smb.conf to block unauthenticated SID/RID enumeration. [ QSTOR-11834 ]

  • Fixed: Active Directory joins no longer fail when the computer-account OU contains a space. [ QSTOR-11895 ]

  • Fixed: Active Directory joins no longer disable SASL signing in the system-wide ldap.conf. [ QSTOR-11926 ]

  • Added a 'Skip DNS registration' option to the Active Directory join dialog, CLI and API for sites whose DNS is managed outside AD. [ QSTOR-12083 ]

  • Fixed a custom autorid Domain Range Size being discarded during an Active Directory join. [ QSTOR-12089 ]

  • The Active Directory KDC field now accepts a comma-separated list of domain controllers for Kerberos failover. [ QSTOR-12091 ]

  • Active Directory joins in SSSD modes no longer force user/group enumeration, which could stall startup on large domains. [ QSTOR-12092 ]

  • Fixed: Active Directory joins now send the machine-account password update to the PDC Emulator, fixing 'Message stream modified' failures. [ QSTOR-12136 ]

  • Fixed: leaving an Active Directory domain now updates the web UI immediately instead of still showing the old domain. [ QSTOR-12153 ]

  • Changed: the Active Directory join dialog now labels its two ID-range sections distinctly so it's clear which is being edited. [ QSTOR-12154 ]

Upgrade Manager and Installer

  • The upgrade system now fetches and verifies the latest OSNEXUS package signing key before applying updates. [ QSTOR-9551 ]

  • Fixed EL8 upgrades pinning a stale awscli/qstoraws package version from the RedHat repository. [ QSTOR-11991 ]

  • In-place Ceph upgrades now install the shipped Ceph 20.2.2 release instead of an older pinned version. [ QSTOR-11998 ]

  • Fixed a grafana-enterprise package upgrade failure that could leave dpkg in a held state during upgrades from 6.8.1. [ QSTOR-12075 ]

  • Updated the Ubuntu 24.04 upgrade configuration to the shipped kernel and Ceph 20.2.2 versions. [ QSTOR-12077 ]
